Good Luck to our own Debbie Eck!

in

Last year Debbie and her brother participated in the ride in Death Valley.  Her son, Chris, was diagnosed at age 19 and now is 28. This year they are taking on the Lake Tahoe ride: a 72 mile shoreline ride around North America’s largest Alpine Lake and the jewel of the High Sierra!

Debbie writes the first names of children who have been affected by type 1 on her ride jersey. She said this helped her during the tough part of the ride last year. “I felt empowered by the multiple names, those impacted by this disease, on my jersey.” This year she added an additional 20 names to her jersey, all are children from Fairfield County diagnosed in the past year.

You can visit Debbie’s ride page to read more about her journey and the Ride to Cure Diabetes.

We wish Debbie and her brother a great ride and look forward to hearing all about their adventure when they return.
